Hey, I'm Aaron Jacobs

 

 

I come from an athletic background, playing football, basketball, and hockey growing up. As the youngest of three boys, my brothers and I would put most of our erratic energy into playing outside and messing with each other. 


Sports gave me a focus to channel all that energy and I learned many things about myself and life. Although I was involved in sports, I was an overweight child that was very insecure. I had a very poor relationship with food and consumption which showed me how important balance, self love, and discipline are. I was active, but overweight and had an inflammatory diet of mainly processed food. 


This imbalance led to many injuries related to sports and daily physical discomfort. If you look towards nature, everything strives for equilibrium. I believe that if one wants a happy, healthy and fulfilling life, balance is crucial. Whatever a fulfilling life looks like for you, balance and patience are necessary tools to help you get there. The balance of mind, body, and spirit is what I am talking about. Knowledge and wisdom of the mind, vitality of the physical body, and the connection to something greater than yourself are vital aspects for longevity. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. I know that is cliche, but there is a lot of truth to it. Trust your process, be patient, and learn discipline to see real, lasting change. That is universal for anyone with large goals. 


Years of health issues as a child led me on a path of learning what true health is. A passion for holistic wellness grew inside of me and I began to realize that if we are able to reconnect to our nature as human beings, our body can rebalance itself. 


Now, I move my body to reconnect to that nature as a living, breathing, dynamic being. The ultimate freedom in this life is to move however you like and to be able to do things you want. I train my body because I love it, not because I hate it and shifting our perspective towards a positive one leads us to much more sustainable habits. It is important for us to know our “why” when we are striving towards something. This deep, intrinsic compass knows what we really want and need, but it is up to us to actually move in that direction. Taking the right action is not the easiest thing for us to do, but it is definitely necessary to build a robust life. Fitness is physical, but also mental. Anything that is challenging for us means that there is potential for great learning. A diamond forms under immense pressure. You may realize that our thoughts and emotions create our view of the world and ourselves. To make long lasting change, one must be willing to make mistakes and take risks to learn.
